Capitalise on the many great benefits of green tea with this simple to make detox smoothie.
What’s in this Smoothie?
Spinach is a great source of Iron and an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A and vitamin C.
Mangoes are also high in antioxidants, vitamin A and vitamin C.
Green Tea can reduce the formation of free radicals in the body, protecting cells and helping to reduce signs of ageing. It helps raise your metabolism and promote fat burning and also contains L-theanine, that can help you focus and reduce anxiety.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup of Boiling Water
- 2-3 Green Tea Bags
- 1 Packed Cup of Fresh Spinach
- 1 Cup Mango Chunks (frozen if your blender can cope with ice)
- 1 Cup of Ice Cubes (Optional)
Instructions
- Boil the kettle and throw 2-3 Green Tea bags into a cup and pour the boiling water over them and let them steep for about 10 mins.
- Fish out and squeeze the tea bags and add some ice to the green tea to help cool it down quickly.
- Once the tea has cooled, combine all of the ingredients in your blender so that the softer ingredients are closer to the blades. Remember if using a Nutribullet, this is reversed as you flip the cup over once you have put the lid on.
- Add the remaining ice cubes if you have space.
- Secure the lid and blend until smooth and creamy
- Pour and serve immediately or put into an airtight container and store in the fridge for later.
Notes
You can make the green tea concentrate ahead of time and keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
